Caring for Beadwork
Beadwork is a piece of the artists heart. Created with intention, beadwork is good medicine for the person wearing it. Each piece should be protected and worn and stored with care.

Storage
As thread stretches over time, I recommend storing your beadwork on a flat surface, in a dry environment, away from sunlight. Jewelry boxes are perfect as they protect your beadwork from humidity and colours fading from sunlight. Keeping your beadwork in an airtight space will slow the process of tarnishing metals.

Wear
Learn from my mistake and do not wear your fringe earrings in the ocean! Beadwork must not be worn while swimming. Do your best to protect your pieces from the rain and harsh elements. Wait until your fragrance, hair, and makeup is dry and set before wearing your beadwork to avoid stains.

For tufted pieces, you can use a clean spooli brush (eyebrow brush/mascara wand - you can find them in the beauty section at dollar stores and drugstores) to comb the hairs into place if they become misshapen.
